Works of art at least preserve the soul from coarseness; they “key it up" like tuning an instrument.
Part of a larger, self-initiated project exploring relationships between audio and visual communication, Composition XI is an interactive installation piece designed to observe and examine the way in which people interact with digital landscapes in a physical world.
The microphones pick up sound, which is then translated through an original algorithm to create custom visuals responding to the sounds made by the user. The notion that people can express themselves without the aid of physical tools, asks a wider question about our ever-changing relationship with both physical and digital worlds.
